About US

Established in 1961, the Scarborough Camera Club (SCC) embraces many photographic forms and categories, including digital, print, monochrome, colour, audio/visual presentations (slideshows), etc.

Club members range from complete novices to professionally experienced photographers.  Club members use a diverse set of equipment from nearly all manufacturers, ranging from cell phone cameras to top quality photographic equipment.  Membership in the club does not require experience nor expensive equipment.

Workshops and demonstrations are organized and presented by club members to help others improve their knowledge and skills, and the club invites a number of speakers every year.  Presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and outings embrace diverse styles of photography, including Landscapes, Street, Portraiture, Nature, Pet, Wildlife, etc.  The possibilities are only limited by the member’s imagination.

Presentations are balanced with the exhibition of members’ images entered in the club’s competitions and other informal members’ evenings.  The meetings are full of informed and helpful comments to help improve and stimulate your photographic skills, regardless of current ability.

We also arrange a number of interesting and informal photo shoots/outings throughout the year at a variety of different locations for members.

Meetings and Outings

Our program will always reflect the latest government and health department guidelines for the safety of our members. Meetings are held in-person at Bridletowne Park Church as long as Covid and health recommendations allow. Meetings start at 7:30pm with the doors opening at 7:00pm. We are also experimenting with using Zoom to accommodate remote speakers and/or isolated members. Check out our calendar regularly (See tab at top of page) for the latest information on meetings and outings.

From September to May, there will be a variety of program suggestions as reflected in the calendar. Historically, the Club has met on Tuesday nights.

  • Presentations
  • Member nights
  • Demonstrations
  • Photo evaluations

There are two outings per month scheduled throughout the season, following government and health department guidelines for social distancing. The details of each outing are available in our calendar. Note: to verify outing participant numbers and make sure everyone arrives at the proper location, outing participants are required to pre-register through our Outings email account at sccoutings@gmail.com in order to attend.

Please review our calendar regularly via the Calendar tab at the top of the page as event times, locations and details are subject to change.

We look forward to seeing you virtually and in-person at our meetings and outings.
